Have you had ear ringing for days? Is it showing any signs of going away? If not, then it looks like you have tinnitus.
What Is Tinnitus?
Tinnitus is the name of a condition where one or both of your ears is affected by a constant, ringing sensation.
How Is It Caused?
The bare minimum required to get tinnitus is some form of hearing damage. Even though you may think that your hearing is perfect, it isn't.
Most people suffer some minimal hearing damage over a lifetime but
increasing numbers of people are suffering significant and more serious
damage.
All tinnitus sufferers have significant amounts of irreversible hearing damage.
However, not all people with hearing damage have tinnitus too. This is due to additional factors.
Additional Factors
Some tinnitus sufferers have significant sinus problems. Others may have TMJ problems i.e. issues with the jaw and the circulation in this region.
Then there are other factors which we have a great deal of control
over. For example, did you know that the wrong type of toothpaste is a
factor that can lead to tinnitus? Did you know that there is a chemical
that is common to some foods that can make your ear ringing much, much
worse?
Be Systematic
The only way to know which of these additional factors are working against you in your own individual case is to, step by step, eliminate each one from your current lifestyle.
Check to see if there is any improvement in your symptoms. If there is,
then eliminate or do your best to remove all traces of this factor. If
there is no improvement, then move on to the next factor.
This may sound like a lot of effort but ear ringing is debilitating and
most sufferers consider it to be a worthy investment of their time.
Besides, there are NO drugs that you can take for this condition. The
fact is, this is one of only very few things that you can do to reduce or stop your ear ringing.
